Occupational Health and Safety Master’s Program (Non-Thesis)

The aim of the program
According to ISG 6331 law it is obligatory for every firm  to employ an occupational safety specialist.  Thus, our country needs well-prepared specialists in this area.  Occupational Health and Safety Master’s Program (Non-Thesis) started on the basis of Istanbul Gelişim University Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences with the aim of  fostering scientifically educated specialists. The aim of this program is to contribute to the new mentality  and culture of Occupational Health and Safety in our country. Consequently, this program prepare  academic staff in the sphere of Occupational Health and Safety in consideration of scientific research.
 The content of the program
Non-Thesis Master’s Program presupposes students to accomplish  minimum 10 courses (total 30 credits) and term project preparation  in the period of 2 semesters minimum and 3 semestrs maximum according to Istanbul Gelişim University Postgraduate Education and Examination Management Regulation.

·         Graduates from Faculty of Technical Education
·        
Graduates from Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences and Literature, Departments of Biology, Physics,Chemistry
·        
Graduates from university who attend or graduated from Two-Year Degree Program in Occupational Health and Safety



Career prospects
According to 8/(1)-b-2 part of Occupational Safety Specialist Duty, Competency, Responsibility and Trainings management regulation, those who accomplished Master’s program in Occupational Health and Safety and graduated form faculties of Engineering or Architecture have the right to apply for class B ocuppational safety specialist examination 
 ALES score is not required for Non-Thesis Master’s program  application.
 
D. FINAL REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1. For Master’s Degree Batchelor’s  diploma or an official letter certifying graduation
2. For Ph.D. Degree  the official version of Master’s diploma (except those who aply for Joint Ph.D.)
3. Official transcript
4. Certificate of military service
5. ID certificate ( with id number included)
6. Certificate of residence
7. Receipt of  payment ( the document is given in the accounting office during the application)
8. Photo (4 photos for documents “4,5cm x 6cm”)
9. Duty place certificate ( official document stating your place of work is necessary to get a corporation discount)
10. Certificate of equivalence ( for foreign students)
 
      
* ALES certificate ( is needed for programs with thesis, private students and candidates applying for Non-Thesis Master’s programs are not required to provide ALES certificate)

*Discount rates are available here:  fbe.gelisim.edu.tr. Discounts for Thesis/Non-Thesis programs and Ph.D. programs depend on ALES scores. The highest discount rate will be implemented.
 
Note: The fees cover 2 semesters for Non-Thesis Master’s program, 4 semesters for Thesis Master’s program, 8 semesters for Ph.D. and 10 semesters for Joint Ph.D.  The ALES discount for programs which don’t require ALES certificate is not provided. Students are entitled to use only one discout from the list. Students who apply from not related majors will be obliged to pay “Scientific Preparation” program fee.
At the same time, according to paragraph 59 part 4 of Istanbul Gelişim University Postgraduate Education and Exam Management Regulation those who cancel their registration until  the course selection period ends will be given registration fee refund.  Students who cancel their registration under other conditions will not be paid any refunds for the current  semester and semesters preceding the cancellation.
